Pathway to Full Freedom Trail Guides

Contents:

What is a P2FF Trail Guide:

  • A person who wants to be and do all that God has planned for them to be and do
  • A person who wants to help others to be and do all God has planned for them to be and do
  • A person who has a heart for hurt people and a willingness to support their healing
  • A person committed to coming before the Lord themselves, for cleansing, healing and direction
  • A person recognizing the need to daily submit to, depend on and walk in the light of the Lord, standing against the influence of the flesh, the world and the enemy – for their own protection and for the protection of those to whom they minister.
  • A person prepared, trained, mentored and supervised in lovingly supporting a hurting person using the systematic healing process and tools of the P2FF Pathway to Full Freedom. This person is familiar with, but may or may not be trained in P2FF Body Awareness
    • A person who is available as scheduled to pray, prepare, and meet the P2FF Pathfinder care receiver, allowing trust and relationship to grow in the process.
    • A person available and able to listen, pray, support, question, encourage, prepare between sessions and hold the P2FF  Pathfinder care receiver lovingly accountable on their personal journey.
      • Ensuring time for the P2FF Pathfinder to integrate healthy insights and skills into life and relationships
      • Allowing time for the P2FF Pathfinder to recognize options and exercise choice and practice daily healthy thoughts and habits
      • Providing problem-solving support and encouragement to the P2FF Pathfinder
  • A person gifted and called to this work: A person recognizing the responsibility to do no harm to self or others and who would reach out to help others even if they were not paid.
  • A person recognizing the value of this comprehensive approach in healing, freedom, wholeness and service to others.

Qualities of a Support Person:

  • A P2FF Trail Guide is familiar with the work and the resources and will meet the following criteria. It is very effective to have a Counselor or healthy friend team with you and your Trail Guide, since team effort is valuable for perspective, insight and for additional support. A team of three is stronger than one or two (Ecc. 4:12) and the cooperative work more than multiplies the benefit to the care receiver.
  • Professional Counselor of your choosing who is willing to support heart-mind-spirit-body work OR
  • Supportive person who is healthy and mature in dealing with the trials of life AND:
    1. with whom you can speak openly and who will do the same for you
    2. who can help you be and feel safe
    3. who can recognize when you need help and can help you PREVENT problems
    4. who is able to help you if you start to have trouble
    5. who has the strength and stability to care for themselves and support you
    6. who is willing to follow-up with you in working through the P2FF Pathway to Full Freedom, and in your independent processing
    7. who is managing their cleansing and healing well (all of us need to attend to our daily dirt and wounds) and is a spiritually mature Christian – keeping up their own healthy relationship with Almighty God and who can accurately apply the word of truth.(2 Tim. 2:15)
  • Your support person will provide feedback to you, will review your work and ask pertinent questions as you work through the PathwaySteps” (lessons) and do your journaling, reflecting and processing
  • If you choose to receive P2FF Body Awareness at some point, you will need your support person with you – Trail Guides are available for this work, as schedules permit.

Differences between Massage and P2FF Body Awareness:

Massage P2FF Body Awareness
- stimulates circulation and healing - facilitates connection of body, heart, spirit, mind
- can intensify healing or trauma* - avoids trauma while working through suffering
- may reinforce relaxation or guarding* - intentionally focuses on “work” or “refreshment”
- can “trigger” without resolution - “triggers” for insight & over-write, not trauma
- focused on physical benefit - focused on balanced benefit to whole person
- often passive or distracted - interactive, focused and supported
- limited or absent kinesiology awareness - symptom care & structural improvement
- often unaware of positional triggers/effects - aware of treatment positioning and effects
- little or no interaction with Jesus - actively seeks Jesus’ wisdom and healing
- temporary relief (no specific corrections) - long-term relief with specific corrections
- benefit from “drop-in” sessions - requires commitment to follow through

* negative responses to massage can result from 1) unknown and/or unseen wounds and protective patterns 2) therapist unfamiliarity with indications and management of survival reactions

Similarities between Massage  and P2FF Body Awareness:

  • Initial screening and education of the P2FF Pathfinder care receiver with clinical courtesy, respect and protection
  • Use of effleurage, deep tissue work and other soft tissue techniques
  • Sensitive to tissue status – listen carefully through touch, observation, confirmation
  • Relief of pain, stiffness, movement dysfunction, tension, etc.
